Tampa, FL -- Two lanes may be closed on southbound Dale Mabry Highway at I-275 from 8:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday (May 26 - 28) nights. All lanes may be closed in either or both directions from 10:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. these same nights.

DETOUR: Traffic will be directed around the closed area using Himes Avenue, Columbus Drive and Cypress Street.

TAMPA -- The entrance ramp onto northbound I-275 from Lois Avenue closed April 9, 2013. It is estimated to remain closed until spring 2016.

DETOUR: Go east on Cypress Street, turn left onto northbound Dale Mabry Highway and use that road's entrance ramp to northbound I-275.

TAMPA -- The entrance ramp onto southbound I-275 from Lois Avenue is closed for construction work in that area (closure began January 7, 2014). The ramp is estimated to reopen in late 2015.

DETOUR GOING TO HOWARD FRANKLAND BRIDGE: Go west on Cypress Street, turn left after crossing under State Road 60/Memorial Highway (west of O'Brien Street) and use that entrance ramp to southbound I-275 towards St. Petersburg.

DETOUR GOING TO WESTBOUND SR 60/MEMORIAL HIGHWAY: Go west on Cypress Street, turn right onto O'Brien Street and go north to Spruce Street, then turn left onto Spruce Street and go west to the ramps to westbound State Road 60/Veterans Expressway or Tampa International Airport.

Fowler entrance ramps to northbound I-75 to be closed two nights

Tampa, FL --The Fowler Avenue entrance ramps onto northbound I-75 will be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday (May 26 and 27) nights. The ramp from eastbound Fowler Avenue is scheduled to be closed Tuesday night; the westbound Fowler Avenue ramp is scheduled to be closed Wednesday night.

DETOUR: Drivers will be directed to U-turn locations on Fowler Avenue to enter northbound I-75 using the ramp from the opposite direction of the closed ramp. At least one ramp from either eastbound or westbound Fowler Avenue will be open at all times.

PASCO COUNTY, FL -- One lane may be closed in each direction of I-75 between SR 52 (Exit 285) and the Hernando County line (north of County Road 41/Exit 293) between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Tuesday through Friday (May 26 - 29) nights.


Closure Policy
We've had our engineers design the reconstruction of the interstates so as to disrupt travel of the motoring public the least possible. That's why the majority of our interstate closures are done during the late-night and early-morning hours. In most cases, you will find at least the same number of lanes open during daytime hours as were available before construction began. Though our closure hours vary from project to project, the general window for lane closures is 9:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Please go to the project areas of your choice (by clicking on the interstate shields to the left) for specific closure hours for those projects and for currently scheduled projects in those areas.

For real time traffic information, motorists can dial 511 or visit the fl511.com Web site.  We encourage you to call before you go (to avoid using the phone while driving) to find out about conditions on your planned route.

Commercial Radio Traffic Reports
Motorists should be aware that the Tampa Bay area has several traffic reporting agencies that provide local radio and television stations with traffic information. These reports are updated and broadcast frequently on most area stations, particularly during the morning and afternoon drive times. Information provided includes areas of heavy traffic volume, accidents, and closures.

Alternate Routes
If you choose to avoid traveling through our construction areas, other corridors are available as alternatives:

For Interstate 4 in Hillsborough County, these alternate routes include U.S. Highway 92, State Road 574, State Road 60, and the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway. All of the roads are south of the I-4 corridor, and with the exception of the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway, all will take you through urbanized areas with many crossroads and intersections.

For Interstate 275 in Hillsborough County, both Florida Avenue and Nebraska Avenue (U.S. 41) run parallel to the interstate.

For Interstate 275 in Pinellas County, 4th Street, 9th Street, and U.S. 19 are major alternative roadways.
