Tampa, FL -- Multiple lanes may be closed on northbound I-275 from west of Ashley Drive/Scott Street/Tampa Street (Exit 44) to north of I-4 (Exit 45B) between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday (May 1 - 5) nights. There may also be lanes closed in the southbound direction during the same hours Thursday night, May 5.

Also, the following ramps are expected to be closed as follows:

* Scott St. entrance ramp onto northbound I-275 closed 10:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, May 2. DETOUR: Drivers will be directed onto eastbound I-4 where they can use Exit 1 (21st/22nd streets). At the bottom of the ramp, go straight across 21st Street, turn left onto 22nd Street, then turn left onto 14th Avenue after passing under I-4 and go straight to enter westbound I-4 to access the ramp to northbound I-275.

* Scott St. /Orange Ave. entrance ramp onto eastbound I-4 closed 10:00 p.m. Monday, May 2 to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 3. DETOUR: Traffic will be directed onto northbound I-275 and will exit to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard (Exit 46B). At the bottom of the ramp, turn left and cross under I-275, then turn left to enter southbound I-275. From there, take the flyover bridge (Exit 45B) to eastbound I-4.

* Westbound I-4 ramp onto northbound I-275 closed 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday (May 3 - 5) nights. DETOUR: Drivers will be directed to Exit 45A (Downtown East-West) to Doyle Carlton Drive. At the bottom of the ramp, turn right onto Doyle Carlton Drive. Turn right onto Palm Avenue, right onto Tampa Street, left onto Scott Street and then use the entrance ramp onto northbound I-275.

Weather and events may result in changes to this schedule. Motorists are advised to plan some additional time and for lane closures to occur in either direction Sunday through Thursday nights. Ramp closures may also be shifted to other nights, as well. Watch lighted message boards for detour information.

Closure Policy
We've had our engineers design the reconstruction of the interstates so as to disrupt travel of the motoring public the least possible. That's why the majority of our interstate closures are done during the late-night and early-morning hours. In most cases, you will find at least the same number of lanes open during daytime hours as were available before construction began. Though our closure hours vary from project to project, the general window for lane closures is 9:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Please go to the project areas of your choice (by clicking on the interstate shields to the left) for specific closure hours for those projects and for currently scheduled projects in those areas.

Commercial Radio Traffic Reports
Motorists should be aware that the Tampa Bay area has several traffic reporting agencies that provide local radio and television stations with traffic information. These reports are updated and broadcast frequently on most area stations, particularly during the morning and afternoon drive times. Information provided includes areas of heavy traffic volume, accidents, and closures.

Alternate Routes
If you choose to avoid traveling through our construction areas, other corridors are available as alternatives:

For Interstate 4 in Hillsborough County, these alternate routes include U.S. Highway 92, State Road 574, State Road 60, and the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway. All of the roads are south of the I-4 corridor, and with the exception of the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway, all will take you through urbanized areas with many crossroads and intersections.

For Interstate 275 in Hillsborough County, both Florida Avenue and Nebraska Avenue (U.S. 41) run parallel to the interstate.

For Interstate 275 in Pinellas County, 4th Street, 9th Street, and U.S. 19 are major alternative roadways.
