Lane closures and traffic pacing on northbound I-75 tonight -- I-4 ramps to northbound I-75 directed to southbound I-75
4/3/2008 - Tampa Bay Sunguide on I-75 from U.S. 301 to Fowler Avenue (completed April 2008)
TAMPA -- Two of three lanes will be closed on northbound I-75 about 2.5 miles north of I-4 (Exit 261) between 10 p.m. Thursday (April 3) and 6 a.m. Friday (April 4). Crews will be installing a Dynamic Message Sign over the highway at this location.
Also, traffic on the northbound I-75 corridor from State Road 60 (Exit 257) to 2.5 miles north of I-4 (Exit 261) will be paced for a 30 minute duration sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. Friday (April 4). Law enforcement officers will lead the pace and entrance ramps within the pacing area will be closed until the front of the traffic pacing operation passes the entrance ramp.
During the 30-minute pace, motorists wanting to use the I-4 ramps to northbound I-75 will be directed to southbound I-75, where they can exit at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard/State Road 574 (Exit 260), turn left at the signal and cross I-75, then turn left and enter northbound I-75. However, depending on where the I-75 traffic pace is at the time, motorists may be stopped on the MLK entrance ramp.
To avoid delays, motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
